grid-tied electrical system is an electrical generation or grid
energy storage system which links to the mains to feed excess
capacity back to the local mains electrical grid. When insufficient
photovoltaic electricity is generated, or the batteries are not
fully charged, electricity drawn from the mains grid can make
up the difference. This system can give you the advantage of using
renewable energy from the sun while at the same time giving you
assurance that your power requirements will always be met. Some
utility power arrangements will buy back any excess power you
give back into the grid for additional savings.

There are two popular solar hot water heating systems solutions.

Vacuum
or Evacuated tube collectors offer a higher yearly efficiency
due to the superior insulation provided by the vacuum. This makes
vacuum tube collectors much better for winter space heating applications
as well as all year. They offer easier Installation & Servicing
as the tubes are installed/removed individually without special
tools. You don’t have to shut the system down if a tube
is removed due to the dry connection to the heat exchange manifold
(no leakage potential)
The absorber surfaces are protected from environmental degradation
by the hermetically sealed glass tube for longer life. Tubes at
installation can be adjusted on axis to compensate for non-south-facing
roofs (flat plates require building a frame to tilt the array).
The tubes are very strong and are manufactured and tested to withstand

flat plate collector has already a history of over 60 years. Its
high efficiency in the low operating temperature range has advanced
its worldwide dissemination. The collector has the highest cost-effectiveness
compared with other types of solar collectors and is suitable
for regions with high annual solar irradiation and short winter.
An important asset of flat plate solar collectors is their versatility.
One of the application areas for flat plate solar collectors is
domestic water heating. Therefore installation requires remarkably
little space making it practically applicable at any domestic

Lighting
LED
lighting is the wave of the future. Electric lighting consumes
up to 25% of the average energy budget. Although compared to the
older incandescent technology, Compact Fluorescents (CFL) are
a green energy saving technology yet not green environmentally
because they incorporate the toxic substance Mercury. LED lighting
on the other hand is extremely energy-efficient, far more than
CFL bulbs, using only 2–10 watts of electricity making it
especially ideal for Off-Grid Solar applications. LED lights offer
the following advantages
Long-lasting
- LED bulbs last up to 10 times as long as compact fluorescents,
and far longer than typical incandescents.
Durable - Since
LEDs do not have a filament, they are not damaged under circumstances
when a regular incandescent bulb would be broken. Because they
are solid, LED bulbs hold up well to jarring and bumping.
Cool - These bulbs
do not cause heat build-up; LEDs produce 3.4 btu's/hour, compared
to 85 for incandescent bulbs. This also cuts down on air conditioning
costs in the home.
Mercury-free - No
mercury is used in the manufacturing of LEDs unlike compact fluorescents
making LEDs a truly green product for energy savings and the environment.
If a CFL bulb breaks it requires special handling.
More efficient -
LED light bulbs use only 2-10 watts of electricity (1/3rd to 1/30th
of Incandescent or CFL) . Also, because these bulbs last for years,
energy is saved in maintenance and replacement costs.
Cost-effective -
Although LEDs are expensive, the cost is recouped over time in
both energy savings and in commercial use where maintenance and
replacement costs are expensive. Energy consumed for lighting
can be reduced by 80% or more.
Light for remote areas -
Because of the low power requirement for LEDs, using solar panels
becomes more practical and less expensive than running an electric
line or using a generator for lighting. By utilizing 12 &
24 VDC LED lighting greater efficiency can be realized connecting
directly to a solar battery bank with no DC to AC back to DC power
conversion losses.

Shelter
These
20 foot (6 meter) diameter almost 300 sq feet cement with foam
insulation geodesic domes come with a hurricane, earthquake, tornado
guarantee. A triangle is the strongest shape known to man. The
dome's geodesic shape combined with the 5/8 inch thick steel reinforced
concrete exterior allows for such a guarantee. This design will
accommodate forces in excess of 250 mph winds, 90 lb. snow loads
and #9 earthquakes. Because the spherical shape means reduced
exposed surface along with high R-value 3 inch EPS foam insulation
that does not degrade with time, moisture, or compaction, it virtually
eliminates energy leakage to form a solid thermal envelope making
heating or cooling extremely efficient for an easily maintained
comfortable environment. The interior is finished with perlite
cement.
Ideal
for disaster relief situations, the domes can come in 20, 18 or
15 foot (6, 5.5 or 4.5 meter) diameter sizes. Five complete 20
foot size dome kits can be shipped in a single 45 foot high cube
container. It is estimated that one dome shelter can be constructed
per day building 4 at a time. In other words 4 domes in 4 days.

entire community of these small domes could be constructed with
a central 60 foot (18.3 meter) dome to house common shared facilities
